OK, this happened to me and it took me 5 1/2 hours to chase it all down. This company is Synapse, a subsidiary of Time,Inc. which will “gift” magazine subscriptions if you fill out a survey, or if you have extra miles on American Airlines, etc. Look up Synapse Group on Wikki.
Call Magazine Service center (Synapse) 800-399-5731. When I called they said that they did not have any subscriptions under my name. When I refused to give up he (Diego) asked for my order number (may look something like TME*2S12A1*VOGUE). Then said that it was cancelled and I had a full refund. When I called back to double check, with Robert, he said I had a partial refund coming. When I said they were engaging in fraud, he said I would have a full refund in 3 days.

I called the same number and they also said partial only. I said the magic word "fraud" and they said the full amount would come back. No idea who these guys are.
I called and told them they had no authorization to continue magazines issues. I no longer wanted and wasn't notified for a charge. They offered a partial payment, I mentioned the magic word FRAUD and my entire amount was refunded.
I answered a survey for http://bizraterewards.com and then I selected some magazine to redeem my points, it was shown I have to pay 6 dollars for the type of the magazine I had selected, so I did. NO more information was shown there, now I have been charged with $45 with this name on my card USWEEKLY 855-449-8747 NY 11/25. That's how I get the number.
Call type: Survey
I've had the same experience. Guess I must have responded to an offer (thought it was Time magazine) and find out I'm hooked into these guys who keep charging me card $34.50 every 6 months!
Just seen a $17.50 charge on my Chase CC. It says it's from "TME*855-449-8747 NATGE 855-449-8747 NY" which, from the research I've seen means a National Geographic subscription by Time Magazine??? Whom do I call to get rid of this charge?
Call type: Telemarketer
I just realized I've been scammed by the same group. Going to call them tomorrow and demand a full refund for the 80$ they fraudulently stole from me. I think the same happened to me that happened to ana, I filled out a survey, got to pick some magazines to send home, and didn't think twice about it. Then they slip these 20$ charges under our noses once a month, that I unfortunately didn't notice until now... :(
Thanks this number was helpful . I spoke to a real person and canceled all the magazines I never ordered.
Thanks for your posts guys, I got the same experience like Ana's. Luckily, I went and checked my account and saw two charges already... I told myself, I'm gonna call them on Monday and for the next two days, got charged daily. Very upsetting, I called them and raised hell and they said, I'll have my refund in 3 days. I will have to wait for my refund then i'll cancel my card.
I've had this happen FOUR times. Now I can't even get them to answer my calls to get my refund.
All I got to talk to was a computer. At first you get a real deal for a magazine subscription, then they automatically extend your subscription for lots more money.
I've been calling 855-449-8747 today and it's saying "The number is no longer in service or is having technical difficulties." I think I'm just going to call my CC and dispute the charges.

Can anyone tell me how to get past the automated answering service?
Saw a charge of $122.00 on debit card, I knew I had filled out the survey and ordered the magazine but of course they don't send anything to remind you to cancel or continue to receive the magazines...thus I got charged the $122.00. The 855-449-8747 is a computer and I found it impossible to get a human, but I was able to cancel the magazines. To find out what sort of refund I would receive I called Synapse 800-399-5731. I did get a human and was refunded the entire amount with no issues.
Thanks for the info. I had this charge on my account the number listed above is an automated service could not get anywhere with them. I called the other number you listed 800-399-5731. and was issued a full refund. Thanks again
I experienced the same thing...2 separate $17.50 charges for magazines I never ordered. They said I completed a survey. Scam!! I took the advice of other commenters and said "fraud" about 20 times until a full refund was promised. Let's see what happens. I also called my bank and am getting a new debit card.
same number charged me $20.50 for RachelRay mag. called the 800 number (thanks above person). BAD accent, but I believe I'm to get a refund. Will recheck my statement.
I did not get a call from this #, but called it a long time ago to cancel multiple subscriptions. Somehow, they started again, and my debit card got charged more $. I had called to cancel, but the automated system basically suckered me into renewing. They never mailed me a notice that the subs When I called again, I could NOT speak to a real person, but I think I successfully stopped the subscription, but there was also no option for a refund. By the time it might renew, if the automated system request didn't work, I hope to have moved and switched banks.
