So, in summary, am I correct in saying... if you get a message saying "A voicemail message from +44xxxxxxxxxx was left for you at hh:mm on dd/mm. Please call 222 to listen to it before it is automatically deleted."... The message is legit, from Orange, to tell you that a voicemail (as per detail in the text) is about to be deleted automatically from the Orange voicemail server, because the time allowed to keep it has expired. BUT, by dialling 222 as requested, IT CHARGES YOU EXTRA, to log in to the Orange voicemail server, as that is not included in your normal price plan. Can someone confirm that this is a correct summary?

I had my phone next to me whilst I was using the PC and it had full signal. My phone beeps and tells me I have an answerphone message LEFT by 07973100123. I listen to the voice mail and it is a female and male, I cannot work out what they are saying as it is fuzzy and unclear, there is a lot of background noise and laughing. It is like they left their phone in their pocket.
I don't understand, this IS the orange voicemail number, so how is this number able to call me and leave a prank phone call that goes on for many minutes? It is certainly not an official phone call from orange!
im on payg i dont have a bill i think be carful of scam
This is the Orange answerphone number, so its not the number that called you, I had a call that showed up as this and then the message left said to press 5, I didn't as it is undoubtedly a scam as the real caller ID was hidden.
My brother got a call from this num at 12:40am can u get stuffed called him he is a child for goodness sake
This pest text message is still going on; why doesn't OfTel do something about it?
After reading the majority of these comments I have deducted, like everyone else, that this is simply another way for Orange to scam money out of you. I was charged 6 times for this number in the space of 2 days, costing 30p each time, this all being on top of my monthly bill.
Anyone who claims that these posters are 'stupid' should revise their statements. There is no need for Orange to suddenly charge for this 'voicemail service' when it is free otherwise. I recall dialling the number back once, only to discover it was some people I didn't know laughing and whispering - much too common a problem to be coincidence.
In conclusion, ignore this number. Orange are a bunch of no-good money-grabbing [***].
If you can be bothered, change providers entirely.

Husband had a call from 07973100123 yesterday. Said he was Albert and would be calling today to get up on our roof, mid to late morning. If he comes he will be in trouble as I will be moving the ladder while he is up there!! Seriously, we could do without this nuisance.
i get this msg every week and i dont access the voice msg, just ignore it.Iif im not expecting a call and dont know the number, i dont want to know,
Caller: DONT KNOW
had a missed call! from orange! had a voice mail it was silence on the message, the bill as been paid no reason to call my!
I have the dolphin 7 package from Orange. I make very few calls and never exceed my package. Checking my bill online today I noticed I had been charged £0.292 (plus vat) for a 3 second call to this number. Googling the number I discovered that it is Orange. I definitely did not call the number. From some of the comments I see it might be to hear voicemail but I do not have voicemail on my phone specifically to avoid extra charges. Is this a way of orange getting extra money from me?
I find this number on my voice mail, but can't get any messages! Whoever is calling must have more money than sense!
